You must have the marriage license before your wedding day. This license is used to legalize your marriage. A marriage license can only be obtained at a county courthouse in the State of Florida.
- There is no waiting period for out of state residents.
- Florida residents have a 3 days waiting period, unless you have obtained a pre-marital course certificate prior to applying for the license.
- No blood test or medical physical is required.
- Both parties must be 18 years of age or older.
- Both parties must be present to sign for the license and have proper ID ( driver's license, passport, or original birth certificate).
- The marriage license is valid for 60 days ONLY from date of issue.
- A marriage license is $88.50, this must be paid in cash only.
- You will need to know the dates of a divorce or death of former spouse if applicable.
- You must have the license with you at the time of the ceremony. I will sign it and complete the information on the license. I will then mail it to the clerk's office where it was purchased. After the license is properly recorded by the clerk, a validated copy will be mailed to you at the address that you gave to the clerk's office. You should receive this within 2 weeks of your wedding.
